It was so beautiful when we woke up from the hammock planted below the road, that we forgot to take the usual photo with the hammock and the sleeping place.
This is a boat village. It is very expensive to live there.
We drive for hours through fields where you can see orchards until the horizon. Symmetrical, perfect lines, perfect trees, perfect fruits. In 10 years, agriculture became very important in California. Now 40% of the fruit production in US, is made here thanks to 2M: Machines and Mexicans. And still, here I ate the most expensive apples … 1.5$ the piece. I bought 3 times, because each time I was sure that the price is on kg, not on lb.
Sometimes I drove 1 minute seeing the same cow farm.

We played with the red line of the gas tank. We calculated and decided to go to the next gas station which was after this hill. After going on the top of the hill, I cut the engine downhill to the other valley. Probably we had 1.2 liters in the tank when we arrived.
The private property is sacred. But I think is crazy to drive in a very beautiful valley and not to be able to have a picnic. Everywhere there were fences, and each 300 meters, there were this warning signs, and even after the fence.
They look kitschy, but they come from Europe, and there are some originals as well.
The owner is Basque. He was very successful in France, but he couldn’t stand that his neighbours were counting his Mercedes cars. So he came in California and is very happy. He agrees that the taste of his multi-millionaire clients is debatable, but it’s so good to be your own master and not to report to anyone.
